For the second year running the flourishing partnership that has blossomed between the building giants Morgan Sindall plc, Newport City Council and our community department has delivered another series of brilliant days for the local youngsters.
Kids from all the local comprehensives were invited to come over to Rodney Parade and spend a day on our ‘health and well-being’ days.
“What we enjoy most about these days is the fact that the pupils are selected by their schools as a reward for their efforts or good behaviour. The kids are not always into rugby or sport but we ensure that they are fully included and have a really memorable time” said Community Manager Mike Sage.
“Our aim at Morgan Sindall is to become involved at a local level,” said Goff Davies, Education advisor, “As always it was a quality couple of days that the children really benefitted from. Well done to all those involved”
Over the course of two days pupils from St Josephs, Duffryn, Newport High, Lliswerry, St Julian’s and Caerleon all had the chance to take part in the activities based on leading a healthy lifestyle.
The programme of activities involved a number of physical activities, a tour of the new stadium, visiting the trophy room and watching the inspirational Dragons, in an all action film in the home changing room. They also met and interviewed Dragons stars Matthew Pewtner and Dan Watchurst.
Both days concluded with a presentation of a course tee shirt, certificate and Dragons goodies. All participants were also invited back to watch the Dragons in their first league game of the new season.
