Newport Gwent Dragons have thrown their weight behind Cross Keys’ bid for British & Irish Cup glory in the final in Cork on Friday (5:30pm).
Cross Keys are the remaining Welsh side in the competition and represent the Dragons region. They face a Munster A side which is full of RaboDirect PRO12 experience, many of whom having played against the Dragons in their 2 meetings so far this season.
The Dragons are also lending their support to Cross Keys in providing players to boost their bid. Fly half Jason Tovey is brought into the squad to replace Steffan Jones who suffered a broken ankle in the semi-final victory. Also included in the side is back row forward Jevon Groves who has been ever present in Keys’ BIC campaign this year.
Cross Keys overcame Cornish Pirates in a tight semi-final by 20-16 whilst Munster A beat Leinster A 36-29.
The match is live on Sky Sports 2.
Cross Keys: G David, K Baller, L Andrews, P Williams, N Trowbridge, J Tovey, R Dyer, R Cornock, G Price, M Jones, D Hodge, T Lampard, R Peebles, R Nash (captain), J Groves.
Replacements: J Sollis, C Gould, L Rawlins, C Trayhern, M Popham, L Williams, O Jones.
